Accessibility
Last updated 1 November 2026We want themeux.com, our docs and our themes to work for everyone, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, zoom or high-contrast settings. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we do
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to content” link.
- Text colours are checked against their backgrounds; body and label text meets at least 4.5:1 contrast.
- Images that carry information have text descriptions; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
- Links that open another site or a new tab say so.
- Forms have labels, and errors are announced to screen readers.
- Smooth scrolling and animation are turned off when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Pages reflow to a single column on small screens and at high zoom.
What we know isn’t right yet
- The live demo stores run on Shopify, so Shopify controls parts of them, such as checkout.
- Some doc screenshots show interface text that isn’t repeated in the surrounding words.
Our themes
Accessibility is built into the themes too: keyboard-operable menus and drawers, visible focus, contrast-checked colour presets, and a storefront that still works without JavaScript. Colours or content you change in your own store may affect this.
Tell us
If something on the site or in a theme is hard to use, write to support@themeux.com with the page and what happened. We reply within one day and will fix what we can, or send you the information another way.
