Keep text readable on any photo, and set how carousels are navigated.
Text protection
Hero, Slideshow, Mosaic tiles, Collection banner and Build your own share a Text protection setting. Scrim puts a soft panel behind the text, Gradient darkens the area behind it, Box draws a solid panel and None leaves the image bare. Overlay opacity tints the whole image on top of that.

Carousels
Sections with a carousel layout (Featured collection, Collection list, Multicolumn, Testimonials, Blog posts, Mosaic on mobile, Timeline, Video reels, Slideshow) take Carousel navigation (arrows and dots, arrows, dots, progress bar or none) and Arrow position. Use theme default follows Theme settings → Carousels.
